Going camping this summer? 7 must-have products to bring on your trip!

I just got back from a short camping trip up at the farm where my significant other hunts- and if you were wondering, running water or not, my skincare game did not quit! I wanted to share my favorite products for when you are using a washcloth and a water bottle to wash your face. Keep in mind, my skin type is rather dry and temperamental, especially in cold weather (it was 31 degrees when I woke up this morning at the farm!). So this routine is probably best for dry/normal/combination skin. Most of these products would work for oily skin as well, but I can’t necessarily speak on that myself! Anyway, here’s my product roundup from the past few days. I hope it helps anyone going camping, or just spending time outdoors this summer!

First off was the cleanser I used. I have found that a solid cleansing balm is the easiest to use with the water bottle+washcloth method I mentioned above. If you have running water, you can rub this all over your face massaging and getting in a good scrub before running to rinse and you won’t even look too crazy! This balm is under $20 on Amazon and a favorite of mine in general- especially in this scent. If you are sensitive to fragrance, give the original version a try!

Next up is toner. In my opinion, the easiest toner formula to use while on vacation in general is one that you spray on and don’t need cotton rounds or anything else to use! This particular toner is really great for sensitive skin or dry skin and the price is amazing! Right now it is on sale on Amazon for only $5! This is a hydrating watery toner without astringent properties. This is one product you may want to swap if you have oily or acne-prone skin! Another option for oily or acne-prone skin is this one by COSRX, another amazing Korean beauty brand!

Though some people say you can skip eye cream, I am not one of those people. I definitely see benefits from using a dedicated product under my eyes, and I will not be going without an eye product anytime soon. When I had to pick one product to take along into the great outdoors, I knew it had to be a stick formula. Once I figured that out, there was only one that I truly trusted to keep my undereyes looking fresh no matter how crappy I slept the night before. This one by Tula is a rockstar product that really performs keeping my eyes looking bright and fresh no matter what. Also, these sticks last FOREVER. I have had this one for quite some time now and I use it not only when I am hanging out outdoors- but also year-round in between applying my regular eye cream when I feel the area drying out a bit.

When it comes to moisturizer, I did stick with a cream/gel formula. I just don’t feel like multipurpose sticks quite cut it for my dry skin. I knew I needed to hydrate especially well this trip because the windy cold weather was absolutely giving my skin a beating and I knew if I didn’t stay ahead of it I would be regretting it later! I did stick to a reasonably priced product with a pump dispenser as I knew my hands wouldn’t be as clean as I’d like- and I didn’t want to be dipping into the product with germy, grubby hands! This product is only $10 on Amazon, and I am really impressed with the formula. It is a gel formula that makes it appropriate even for oily, acne-prone skin types. If you are worried about it not being moisturizing enough for your dry skin- keep reading. I have a solution for that problem!

Where are my dry-skin buddies? I know between getting outside in the sun and being outside on cold windy days, my skin takes such a beating! There is one holy-grail product that I rely on for times like these, and there is absolutely no replacement for it in my book. There is a new formulation of this product in other markets, but here in the United States it is still the OG version. If you haven’t tried out the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5- you are absolutely missing out. This is an amazing balm for skin that has been overly sensitized, damaged by sun or wind, dry, flaky, cracking skin- you name it. Nothing performs quite like this stuff and it protects skin from further damage like nobody’s business. Right now it is selling for $15.99 on Amazon, and I can tell you I have two spare bottles in my house AT. ALL. TIMES. Nothing saves my skin quite like this miracle goodness!

I have chronically dry lips. It drives me absolutely bananas. I have about a syringe of lip filler on board, and I’m pretty sure since getting my filler injections that my lips get even drier than they used to. I always keep multiple lip products around- in my purse, my makeup bag, my skincare bag, all over my house, by my bed, you name it- I probably have a lippie there! Recently, another influencer turned me on to the Aquaphor Healing Balm Stick, and for $8.97 on Amazon- it outperforms many of my higher-end lip products. Not only that, how convenient is anything in stick form when you are hanging out outdoors? This is an absolute winner for me and kept my lips super hydrated the past few days. Truly nothing bad to say about it!

Last but CERTAINLY not least, we can’t forget sunscreen. Obviously, when you are spending time outdoors sunscreen is mission-critical. I preach about sunscreen every single week on my Instagram, and I won’t even begin to leave it out when it comes to this post. For outdoor festivities, I feel like a sunscreen stick (just like an eye stick and lip balm stick) is by far the most convenient method to apply as well as reapply whenever you need it. This sunscreen formula is one of the better ones I have found, and it goes on really smoothly and easily unlike some others on the market. At under $20 on Amazon, I feel this is an absolute steal and it performs like a dream! Highly recommend checking it out for when you are spending time outdoors, or even when you just want sunscreen that is easy to reapply throughout the day.
